December 12, 2009
The staff of Clayton and Knightdale Physical Therapy & Wellness came together to celebrate the past year and the holiday season. It was a wonderful celebration of one another and the amazing work that we are privileged to be part of everyday. We wish all of our patients and their families a healthy and happy holiday season and new year!
December 2009
Alison Perry, PTA, recently attended coursework to become a certified weight trainer. The course allowed Alison to increase her knowledge of how to lift free weights and use weight machines while maintaining correct posture and form by keeping a neutral and stable spine. She also learned how to help her patients fully benefit from their exercises by creating routines that best mimic daily activities vs. having her patients perform movements that may increase strength in a muscle but that do not help improve function. Lastly, Alison increased her knowledge of creating sound home exercise programs so that her patients can continue the progress made in therapy when they are on their own at home or in the gym. This program will continue to assist patients in building strength and endurance while decreasing their risk of future injury.

Elaine Castle – You will be missed! -- On December 11th, Clayton Physical Therapy & Wellness said goodbye to the best Physical Therapy Aide we have ever had. Okay, she was the first, but she definitely set the standard! Elaine Castle has moved on to work on her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Elon University. We could not be more proud of Elaine and we wish her all the best on her studies. She will be missed!

Special Honors!
Jodi Keegan, PTA, and her husband, Joey Keegan, are pictured with the American flag that they gave to Clayton Physical Therapy & Wellness. Joey had the flag flown over Afghanistan during a recent deployment. The flag flew with the 336th Fighter Squadron known as the “Rocketeers”. The aircraft being used was an F-15E “Strike Eagle” Dude that flew on June 1, 2009 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. We are very proud to have received this flag (thank you, Jodi and Joey) and we are very happy that Joey is home safe!!
